MATTHEW BERRY death 1908

Matthew Berry, aged 71, died suddenly and unexpectedly Sunday morning at his home, West Main St. Deceased, though feeble, had not been ill, passing peacefully to rest.

Mr. Berry’s face was a familiar one about town and especially familiar to those who passed his home, as he often sat reading on the verandah.

The deceased was a native of Brockville, and came here from Buffalo about nine years ago, and for some time he was caretaker at the Presbyterian church.

Rev. Swayze conducted the funeral on Monday afternoon, the burial taking place at Fonthill.

Mrs. Lemuel Racher, Welland and Mrs. Lemuel Springer of Buffalo, daughters, and the widow survive.
