1. On 17 June 2012, Daniel Weasner Said,

   Swords ~ 1903 Michael Swords death.

   Michael Swords, an old and well known resident of this town, died suddenly at Niagara Falls last Thursday night. He was a veteran of U.S. civil war, and had gone to Niagara Falls, New York., that day to join in the G.A.R. parade. He was a former member of 100th New York Volunteer Infantry, and while he served in the war and attended many G.A.R. gathering since, he was never able to get his pension. After the parade Thursday he was walking down Falls street, when he suddenly dropped on the walk. He was taken to the hospital in an unconscious condition, but recovered sufficiently afterwards to give his name and address. Afterwards at one o’clock that night he died of heart failure being the cause. On Saturday the remains were brought to Welland. Michael Swords was 61 years of age, and until recent years was a town. He leaves a widow, one good and faithful workman. About one daughter named Josie and four sons Michael, John, Edward,and Frank. The former has not been heard from in seven years. John residence in Buffalo. The funeral took place Monday with Mass, at the R.C. church. The interment was in the adjoining bury -
